How to reset your password using Office.com

A step-by-step guide for staff and faculty to reset their password.

Prerequisites

  • A computer with stable Internet connection and a web browser
  • Access to your cell phone

Steps

  1. Step 1: Go to https://office.com

    Open any browser on your laptop, got to https://office.com and click on 'Sign in' on top right.

  2. Step 2: Click on 'Can't access your account?'

  3. Step 3: Select the "Work or school account" option

  4. Step 4: Enter your details

    Enter your JIBC email address, type the characters shown in the image, and click 'Next'.

  5. Step 5: Select the preferred MFA option

    Make sure the "Text my mobile phone" option is selected, then enter your phone number in the text box. Ensure that the phone number matches the one we have on record. Alternatively, you can choose other MFA options, such as Microsoft Authenticator.

  6. Step 6: Verify using MFA

    Enter the verification code sent to the phone number you provided in the previous step.

  7. Step 7: Set up a new password

    Create a new password that is at least 12 characters long and includes at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character
