A step-by-step guide for setting up Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Open your web browser and navigate to the Outlook sign-in page. Enter your JIBC email address and click Next. When prompted, enter your password and click Sign in.
After entering your password, you will see a prompt indicating that additional verification is required. Click on 'Next'
We will use the default verification method, which is via the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Open the authenticator app on your phone. Click on the + icon on the top bar, select 'Work or school account' option and then select 'Scan a QR code'.
Scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
In Step 3, Click on 'I want to set up a different method' and Select phone number. Enter your mobile phone number if prompted. Click Next. You will receive a text message with a verification code. Enter the code in the designated field and click Verify.
In Step 5, If you are not able to scan QR code, Click on 'Can't scan image'. This will give you a code to enter in your authenticator app.
Follow the instructions given in Step 4 and click on 'Enter code manually'.
